Eng Badar Al Salehi, Director General – Oman National CERT, announced the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology – Oman’s (MTCIT) collaboration with CREST International on the UK FCDO-funded CREST CAMP at The 12th Regional Cybersecurity Conference 2024 during ARCC Regional Cyber Security Week.
CREST MEA Lead Sebastian Madden joined Eng Badar, Aziza Al Rashdi, Director General Assistant – Cyber Security Programmes, MTCIT and Michael Eyley, Trade Director British Embassy Muscat, at the event to celebrate the announcement.
Oman is one of 12 countries to be working with CREST to improve the maturity of its cyber security service providers through CREST CAMP.

The Regional Cybersecurity Week is one of the key strategic annual initiatives of the ITU-Arab Regional Cybersecurity Center in Oman established in 2013 and comes under the capacity building pillar of the Center.
The 12th Regional Cybersecurity Conference aims to review the best opportunities and strategies in the field of cybersecurity industry and innovation to enhance the digital economy in the Arab and international regions. It will address aspects of cooperation and innovation in the cybersecurity industry at the local, regional, and international levels, showcasing several global experiences in the cybersecurity industry and cooperation between local and international specialized entities to highlight the procedures for assessing necessary measures to reduce risks in integrated systems.
The conference will also discuss best practices to identify national and organizational cybersecurity policies, present achievements in reducing risks.
