Claranet has today announced its external accreditation by CREST, one of the cyber industry’s most highly regarded industry bodies. The global technology provider is now one of just a few companies to be accredited for providing Security Operations Centre (SOC) services.
An Information Security Operations Centre (SOC) is a facility where enterprise information systems (web sites, applications, databases, data centres and servers, networks, desktops and other endpoints) are monitored, assessed, and defended. Depending on the nature of the SOC, security providers may offer a variety of services, including monitoring, detection, threat hunting, incident management, log
analysis, forensic imaging, malware analysis, reverse engineering, mitigation advice, and general good practice guidance.
Commenting on the recognition from CREST, Dave Ashton, Security Services Director at Claranet, said:
Becoming a CREST accredited company is testimony to the hard work of the team to develop our portfolio of managed security services, including Managed Detection and Response, and Endpoint Detection and Response. These services offer threat detection and 24/7 monitoring capabilities, providing real-time analysis of security alerts and the CREST recognition reinforces the quality of our service.”
Ian Glover, president of CREST, added: “Claranet is already CREST accredited for its penetration testing services, so SOC validation puts the company in a strong position to meet the growing global demand for high-quality, trusted managed SOC services. An effective SOC plays a critical role in underpinning incident detection and response capabilities in the face of increasingly sophisticated cyber-attacks.”
